This site is built to be read by your agent, not just you.

One thing I keep poking at is whether texture, the orientation behind your words, is the layer AI keeps dropping. So I encoded mine here. Copy a prompt, point your agent at it, and see if it unlocks anything you've been working on.

Intentionally unscalable, on purpose

mar 20 2019

The way we build brand is slow, specific, tailored to each business’s actual story. It doesn’t scale. For a long time I treated that as a flaw I’d eventually engineer out.

I’ve flipped on it. Building something intentionally unscalable is a bad idea if you’re optimizing for an exit. We’re not. We’re playing the long game, and the fact that the practice doesn’t scale is exactly what makes it valuable. The thing that can’t be mass-produced is the thing people will actually pay for.

The early model was the opposite instinct. Reasonably priced execution, free strategy, hoping clients would fall in love and pay for the thinking later. It got exploited. People take the discount and book the meeting that was never billable. The lesson stuck: charge for the thing you’re actually best at, especially when it’s the part that refuses to scale.

What’s the unscalable thing you do that’s actually the whole value?
