Public notes should show enough trail to invite trust.
The reader should not have to take everything on faith.
They should be able to see where a thought came from.
They should be able to follow nearby ideas.
They should be able to tell what is current and what is background.
But the trail is not the point.
It is there to make the conversation more trustworthy.
