I keep landing on collaboration over building empires. Taking the zero-sum, winner-take-all approach to AI feels like one of the quicker ways to squander the moment, maybe even put us at real risk. If the whole game is hoarding and out-racing, we get the smallest version of what this could be.
The more interesting question is the opposite one: what could we actually do with this if we aggressively thought about building together instead of building moats? That framing changes what you make and who you make it with.
It’s easy to default to empire-building because that’s the story we’re handed. I’d rather assume the upside is bigger when it’s shared.
