Knowing where you stand is good, but it is not the thing that moves a group. Most bad calls are not bad judgment. They come from a gap in the goal everyone is supposedly working toward.
People make partial decisions because they are missing context, and the next step can only ever be as clear as the goal it points at. Orientation is individual. What actually unlocks a group is the understanding they share, which is why so much misalignment is just two people quietly working from different versions of the same goal.
