Tokens are burning at real economic and environmental cost, and what we’re getting for it is an explosion of artifacts. Something about it doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t feel like we’re compounding thinking. We’re compounding data.
The part that bothers me most: when someone’s artifact isn’t good, it gets thrown away or hidden, and part of their thinking might have been really interesting. The internet’s rules say have it fully fleshed out before you publish or you’re some loser. So the thinking stays trapped inside artifacts that never ship.
