I am not afraid of people taking my ideas. The thing I actually worry about is being boring, or too self-indulgent. So the move is to show the work and the thinking out in the open, because that is the proof.
The ideas are not the asset. Anyone can have the idea. The demonstrated thinking, the trail of how you got there and why, is the thing that is actually yours and actually worth something. Hoarding the conclusion protects the cheap part and hides the valuable one.
