I was trying to force one thing to be two things at once, a tool for me and a tool for a totally different kind of user, because my theory was they’d eventually converge into the same product. I still think that theory might be right. But building from there right now is a disadvantage, not an advantage.
So the better move is to split them. Build one, build the other, give each its own clean bucket. If they converge later, great. If they don’t, that’s fine too. The mistake is collapsing them into one before either side is even proven, just because you can imagine the merge.
