A field note should preserve the question under the claim.
Otherwise the note gets too certain too quickly.
The claim might be useful.
But the question is usually more alive.
Why does this keep showing up?
Where does this fail?
What am I reacting against?
What changed in the work that made this feel true?
What would someone else see differently?
That is the texture.
If the note only keeps the conclusion, it starts to sound like advice.
If it keeps the question, it can stay in conversation.
That matters because the point is not to sound finished.
The point is to keep thinking in a way other people can enter.
