A note can be public without being prominent.
That distinction helps.
The public graph can be deep.
The homepage can stay calm.
The current lens can stay selective.
The archive can hold more.
Those are not contradictions.
Public means the note can be found, linked, searched, and read.
Prominent means the note is part of the main story someone sees first.
Those should be separate decisions.
Otherwise the site either gets too shallow or too noisy.
The better version has depth underneath and restraint on the surface.
