Metadata is a kindness to future readers.
That includes future me.
And future agents.
A note can feel obvious when it is written.
Later, the context fades.
Was this current?
Was it retrospective?
Was it public-safe?
Was it a source or a synthesis?
Was it a strong belief or a provisional handle?
Metadata answers some of that without making the note heavier.
It lets the human read simply.
It lets the agent reason more carefully.
It keeps the public graph from flattening time.
That is not administrative overhead.
It is a kindness.
