Public thinking should make better disagreement possible.
Agreement is not the only good outcome.
Sometimes the useful thing is that someone can see the thought clearly enough to disagree with the actual version of it.
Not the flattened version.
Not the most annoying interpretation.
Not the version missing all context.
That is another reason boundaries and source trails matter.
They give the disagreement something better to land on.
The goal is not to be unchallengeable.
The goal is to make the conversation more precise.
