The archive should let me disagree with past versions of myself.

That is part of keeping it alive.

Old writing matters.

It shows the path.

It shows what I noticed before I had better language.

It shows recurring instincts.

But the archive should not trap me.

I do not need to still agree with every sentence for the old note to be useful.

The current lens can say:

This still feels true.

This changed.

This was incomplete.

This was pointing at something I understand differently now.

That makes the archive more honest.

It also makes it more useful.

The point is not to preserve a perfect record.

The point is to preserve the evolution.
