A field note should leave room for reply.
That is part of what keeps it honest.
It is not trying to be the last word.
It is trying to make the next conversation easier to start.
If the note explains everything, it can become a wall.
If it says one true thing with enough context, it can become a doorway.
The point is not to sound complete.
The point is to make the thought available.
Someone else should be able to pick it up, test it, bend it, push back, or add their own texture.
That is when public thinking starts doing useful work.
